Welcome to Byzantine Crown Productions (BCP), a team of historical experts with an extensive background in independent film making. Our exciting, flagship project called Constantinople 1453 (On the Eve of the Fall) is a 15 minute short film/music video shot on HDV of the world of the “immortal” last emperor of Byzantium, Constantine Palaiologos XI, and his final transpiring days.

This project was inspired by the New York rock group “Phoenix Reign”, whose hit song Constantinople 1453 (On the Eve of the Fall) incorporates an innovating story telling approach by using traditional Greek instruments, such as the Tzoura, Kanonaki (Kanun) and Greek melodic nuances throughout their album “Destination Unknown”.

It is truly an exciting time to be talking about the Byzantine Empire as more information is being disseminated about its intrinsic importance to our own civilization. BCP has meticulously re-created the costumes and weapons of Constantine Palaiologos XI’s long by-gone era and carefully created even the band’s unique look for the video.

Founder and historical consultant, Peter Giakoumis’ extensive knowledge and love for everything Byzantine, (when not co-commanding his other popular ancient Greek Warriors) is almost infectious. Mr. Giakoumis has been on the History Channel and featured in “Skirmish” (the premiere living history magazine) and co-founder Mr. Chrissochos has been interviewed in various Greek History magazines such as War and History (Polemos and Historia) and Patria. Together, they teamed up with co-producer Chris Pollatos, to create a first ever living history Byzantine Regiment Group of the 330-1461 AD period. Finally, a dream comes true for medieval enthusiasts and school educators alike.

So stock up your perishables and raise your double-headed eagle war banners because...
